The Company

With more than 24,000 students from 80 different countries, Birmingham City University is one of the largest universities in the UK and an increasingly popular place to study. Their six academic faculties offer over 350 courses, from foundation level, through undergraduate degree programmes, to taught Master’s courses and research doctorates. About a third of their students study part-time, combining employment with professionally relevant courses.

About the project

Birmingham City University approached us to work with them to create a promotional welcome pack to give to their new students at the course launch. The items needed to be on-brand, genuinely useful, relevant to the students and of course, delivered in time for the launch.

The Solution

After consulting with their management team, the Graphic Arts Group team created a package of items that were relevant for each course and audience, for example, the nursing and midwifery students were given packs including hand sanitisers, pull-reels for their ID cards and stress relievers in the shape of a heart.
To make it as easy as possible for the teams distributing the packs on the day of the launch, we pre-packed the products into sets, and delivered them direct to the course launch location on the day of the course. This simplified the logistics and removed the potential headache for the University, of storage and collation before the launch.
